This casting is of the highest quality and and the bell makes a lovely sound as it is rung.
The thickness of the silver plating is tremendous as you would expect by Elkington & Co, who
invented Electro-Plate in its Birmingham Factory in 1840 and then sold the patent throughout the world soon after.
It was quickly taken up by renowned firms such as Christofle and Tiffany & Co who kept up the standard.
